Youth Service Fund
Youth Service Fund
The Youth Service Fund is the official Youth Mission arm of The United Methodist Church. It is money raised by youth, with the decision of which projects to support made by youth, spent on projects that help youth. In other words, money from youth, spent by youth, for youth.
Some of the projects we support in the Dakotas include Abbot House in Mitchell, Capital Improvements at our United Methodist Camps, the Appalachian Service Project, Harvest of Hope, a project of the Society of Saint Andrew, Lithuanian United Methodist Youth programs, plus a number of worldwide projects through our giving at the denominational level. Also, we give scholarships to United Methodist Youth from the Dakotas who are currently in seminary. (If this is you, please apply here.)
We take offerings and have special events for YSF at most of our events, with opportunities to shape the list of supported projects available through the discernment process of Dak-YAC.
Gifts to YSF can be forwarded through your church to the Conference Treasurer at any time.
Awards
Each year at Dak-YAC we give awards for the youth group that gives the largest amount to YSF and the youth group that gives the largest amount per youth.
